Greg and Ellen Compared

That little Amazon.com page of mine continues to garner attention, even though, in my opinion, Amazon has done a lot to improve their customer service situation since I first posted my rant about them in 2002. The page certainly brought me my 15 minutes of fame, with the stories on NPR, and in the New York Times, U.S. News, the WSJ and so on. It’s really got legs!

But now it’s also given me my own Canadian twin. I got a blog comment the other day from Greg (you’ll have to scroll down a bit to see it), who saw my picture in a PC World story about customer service. He put together the above comparison shot. Are we twins? You be the judge.

Hi Ellen!

Thanks for posting the comparo on your blog. I work across the hall from Greg and I helped take the infamous gray filing cabinet photo. Let’s just say when the camera showed the preview, we just about fell over, because of the resemblance…

If you’re ever in town, we’ll have to meet you!

Ellen: Further to Greg’s earlier contact with you I wanted to touch base with you to see if you could share any kind words or well wishes for Greg that I could share with him. Yoiu see, I have worked for Greg for over ten years now and he has accepted another position which means he will be leaving to work somewhere else. I have arranged for a lunch on Friday and would love to read a well wishing message from his American Twin. I’m sure he would be amused by a surprise message that you might have. Wishing you well and hope you get this in time for a response.
